Audio and Video over HDMI with Ubuntu on Dell Studio 15
Sun, 07/05/2009 - 18:48 — tomIf you have a notebook or pc with HDMI output and a big LCD TV with HDMI input, you might want to connect those. Unfortunately, this doesn't work out-of-the-box with the Dell Studio 15 notebook, neither with Vista nor with Ubuntu.
Now I got it working both in Vista and Ubuntu (8.10 - Intrepid Ibex).

Sun, 09/07/2008 - 23:54 — tomToen ik zo'n Pinnacle usb stickje kocht, en ik wilde er mee beginnen werken (januari 2008), bleek dat je nog een aantal zaken moest doen alvorens het werkte. Toen heb ik er een artikeltje over geschreven. Ondertussen heb ik dat artikel wat proberen up to date houden, maar alvorens ik het vertaal ga ik het nog eens volledig nazien of alles nog klopt. klik op de Engels vertaling van dit artikel om het oorspronkelijke te kunnen zien.

Sun, 09/07/2008 - 01:51 — tomM'n digitale camera (een Canon Powershot A550), heeft de leuke feature om de fysieke oriëntatie van de camera vast te leggen in de EXIF informatie bij elke foto. Dat is zeer handig als je software daar rekening mee houdt. Nooit meer foto's roteren voordat je ze goed kunt bekijken!
Rotating and resizing pictures
Sat, 09/06/2008 - 19:46 — tomMy digital camera (a Canon Powershot A550) has the nice feature of saving the orientation of the picture in the EXIF information (it has a sensor to detect this at the time you take a picture). Some software, like Eye Of Gnome seems to automaticaly show the picture in the correct orientation.
